HAPPY REPUBLIC DAY!

 Republic day 2016 would be celebrated on 26th of January, at Tuesday. In 2016, India would celebrate its 67th Republic Day. First Republic Day of India was celebrated in 1950.



FEW INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT INDIA'S REPUBLIC DAY:-


Fact- #1
The first copy of Indian constitution was not in printing format, but was handwritten and calligraphed in Hindi and English languages.











Fact- #2
Between 1950 and 1954, Irwin Stadium (at present National Stadium), Red Fort, Kingsway (now Rajpath) and Ramlila Grounds were chosen as the venues for Republic Parade. From 1955 Kingsway (Rajpath) became the permanent venue for Republic Day celebration.






Fact- #3
The Indian Prime Minister places a wreath at Amar Jawan Jyoti, India Gate to mark the supreme sacrifice of Indian soldiers who laid down their lives for the sake of India’s Independence.










Fact- #4
Republic Day signifies a day on which National Bravery Awards are given to deserving candidates. The awards that the candidates receive from the President of India include Maha Veer Chakra, Veer Chakra, Param Veer Chakra, Kirti Chakra and Ashoka Chakra.






Fact- #5
The time the President of India unfurls the National Flag, 21 gun shots are fired from arms and canons signifying the naval and military mark of honour.












Fact- #6
The Republic Day celebration concludes on 29th January with ‘Beating Retreat’. It marks the end of all Republic Day celebrations across India. The ceremony shows the stirring performances of the bands of the Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force.
